Brian Fallon

Singer and song writer Brian Fallon came to the public’s attention as the lead vocalist of rock band The Gaslight Anthem. Extremely creative, he has recorded both the album Painkillers and the EP Georgia whilst working as a solo artist within twelve months.

Born in the state of New Jersey, Fallon began playing guitar as a teen having an early introduction to music through his mother; a member of the sixties band The Group Folk Singers. At the age of 17 he released his cassette The Coffeehouse Sessions, working under the name No Release. Limited to only 200 tracks, the 17 tracks were an early sign of promise.

He began to become involved in various projects including assisting recording the band Amping Copper, recording an EP as Cincinnati Rail Tie and founding the band This Charming Man.

In 2006 Fallon became a founding member of The Gaslight Anthem. The amazing band have released five studio albums including Sink Or Swim, The ’59 Sound, American Slang, Handwritten and their latest release; Get hurt. The New Jersey folk punk four-piece are currently on indefinite hiatus.

Fallon began to record once again as a solo artist in 2015, informing fans of his intentions via his Instagram page. He recorded and released the album Painkillers the same year, releasing the EP Painkillers on Record Store Day in April the following year. He now performs with his new band; The Crowes.

An Evening With Brian Fallon - Songs From The Hymnal, Wylam Brewery, Newcastle Upon Tyne - 5th February 2019

Brian Fallon

A nice compact venue and centrally located. Brian Fallon was, as usual, top class and cant wait for the Gaslight Anthem tour in July!

Brian Fallon & The Howling Weather, Boiler Shop, Newcastle Upon Tyne - 8th March 2018

Fantastic show

As expected, a fantastic night of music & banter. It was the first time we had been to the boiler shop so we arrived early & were quite impressed with the set up. Clean modern toilets ! Plenty bar staff working, decent selection of beers at main bar however only 2 beers available at mini bar & when it got busy later on& the queues started some people were getting upset to get to the front & then be told the lager pump is off. It was a bit cramped in front of the stage so we stood to the right of the stage & vision to the stage was quite limited due to the black curtained off area ? I think this was where photographers were allowed in for a short time. Vision could have been a lot better if that was removed. But overall a great night !

Brian Fallon & The Howling Weather, Boiler Shop, Newcastle Upon Tyne - 8th March 2018

Brilliant as always.

Was great to see Dave Hause again and interesting to see how many instruments he and his brother could fit into a warm-up act! Thought Brian's voice was a bit off when he came out for the first song but may have just been nerves or just needed a bit of warming up as it was great from the second song onwards. The venue was a bit strangely shaped and a lot of people were very far away from the stage but nothing can be done about that. Great gig!

Brian Fallon & The Howling Weather, SWX, Bristol - 25th February 2018

Great little show

Excellent performance. Good sound balance throughout. A good solid and chatty performance, although if did seem a little measured again, but I suppose I've been spoiled by marathon 'give it your all' Springsteen performances. Would definitely see Brian Fallon and or Gaslight again but not at SWX - O2 Academy much better organised. Bad venue - queued for an hour and then ticket entry was split between posted tickets and emailed printed tickets and the checking for those was manual and v slow. So many further back in the queue ended up getting entry first. On leaving the single entry/exit was narrow and bottlenecked further by queues for bars, merchandising desk and toilets. The stairs were covered with discarded cups and soaking wet with no evidence of any organisation and marshalling. Any fire/security issues would have resulted in mayhem and probable injury.
