The Temperance Movement

The list of rock bands that have been compared to the Rolling Stones, Free and the Black Crowes is as long as your arm. But the list of bands that have drawn that comparison and actually do sound like this list of rock n’ roll luminaries is short. Very short in fact! Enter The Temperance Movement, who so far in their brief career have met and exceeded expectations with apparent ease. Sounding like all three of the above without ever overdoing it, they play a soulful brand of blues-inspired rock that’s grounded in great songwriting and musicianship and taken to a higher level by just the right blend of belief, swagger and charm.

Catch them when they tour extensively in the new year. See them play at Concorde 2 in Brighton, Cambridge Junction, O2 Institute Birmingham, O2 Academy Bristol and O2 Manchester Ritz during February, then Newcastle University, O2 Academy Sheffield, Pyramid Centre at Portsmouth, Nottingham’s Rock City and O2 Forum in London during March 2018.
Get ready, because The Temperance Movement tickets are expected to sell fast so make sure you get yours before they are gone. You can place your Gigantic gig tickets order 24/7 using a smartphone, tablet or computer.

The tickets are released at 09:00 on Friday 3rd of November so set a personal reminder right now so you can be alerted with a text message or email when they become available.

The five-piece were formed in London in 2011, but the members certainly weren’t new to the game. Scottish vocalist Phil Campbell had already enjoyed a solo career of note, while guitarist Luke Potashnick had played in Rooster and Ben’s Brother, and bassist Nick Fyfee was a former member of Jamiroquai. Their début release was the 2012 effort Pride - a five track EP that created a buzz and propelled them to performances at the Royal Albert Hall and into the studio to record their first full-length album.

Self-titled, the album hit the shelves in September 2013 and sold well, helping the band to hit the road in a whirlwind of festival appearances, including Download and T in the Park. In fact, the boys have earned a reputation as one of the hardest working bands around, playing a seemingly endless run of gigs and still having time to hot the studio to record White Bear, the hotly anticipated follow up album which was released in 2016.

The Temperance Movement, Rock City, Nottingham - 8th March 2018

Great gig both bands spot on.

The venue isn't very good for watching the bands. Stage needs to be higher, I'm 6ft 2 and I found it hard to see them. Great music from both bands.
