Brilliant musicians, but...

The show was really good. Three musicians at the top of their game, with a collection of songs the audience really appreciated. The gripes I have (and they are minor), is that a. they didn't really seem to be too bothered to be there and b. the merch was awful (2 x 2017 tour t shirts and a signed photo of Richie). I always thought that in this day and age, you make your money in tickets and merch rather than music sales. Well, that didn't seem to be the case last night. All that said, it shouldn't detract from what was a great show of musicianship. Richie especially is an absolute master of his instrument and provided plenty of fireworks for us all to enjoy, backed up by a rhythm section that certainly know their way around their instruments too. Shout out to local lad Brad Dear who was added late as support. Just him and his guitar, playing some heartfelt songs mostly based on personal experience. Seemed very relaxed and interacted with the audience very well. Got a decent ovation at the end which is good to see. Deserves some investigation. Altogether, a great night at a great venue. Just cheer up a little next time Richie, OK?
