Starting as politically charged post punks before discovering a commercially successful synth-pop sound; China Crisis are the sound of alternative 80’s.
The band currently includes founding members Gary Daly (vocals, synths) and Eddie Lundon (guitars, vocals).
They have released seven studio albums, including Difficult Shapes & Passive Rhythms, Some People Think It's Fun to Entertain (1982), Working with Fire and Steel – Possible Pop Songs Volume Two (1983), Flaunt the Imperfection (1985), What Price Paradise (1986), Diary of a Hollow Horse (1989), Warped by Success (1994) and Autumn in the Neighbourhood (2015).

What an unexpected treat. They are better with age, still got it, plus who knew we were going to a comedy show too. Enjoyed every minute can’t believe the venue wasn’t rammed You all missed out, don’t hover on the button next time Book It

Band were excellent. Went with the wife who only drinks red wine not white, bought one small bottle then later went for another only to be told they had sold out. I could buy a large bottle for £20, but they wouldn’t open it themselves and sell me a measure. Poor customer service.

Having seen China Crisis many times right back to Rock City days they're usually a solid 4.5/5 However, on this occasion China Crisis decided to use this gig as a rehearsal for their Liverpool gig by performing less popular numbers from less popular albums. While a band must get tired of performing their greatest hits it's what the majority of the audience are there to hear. Any variance should be advertised as such so the ticket buyer can decide if the gig's what they want to pay good money for, this was not the case. The Rescue Rooms curfew was blamed for lack of time but as the band have played here before they know the rules. I'm afraid it's back to performing Lowdham Village Hall for China Crisis and rightly so for treating their loyal fans with such contempt.
