Formed by Ed Cares whilst working as a nanny, Childcare is his exciting new project following his time with To Kill A King. The band sees him team up with Emma Topolski (bass), Rich Legate (guitar) and Glyn Daniels (drums).
“I’m harking back to my teenage years listening to ska and punk in terms of the energy I’m trying to create in the music; there’s a backbone of electric guitar and punk influence from the Clash to UK punk bands like Capdown and then people like Jack White. There’s something about a loud, thrashing guitar that will always get me. But then on top of that if you listen carefully you’ll hear hints of dancehall, r’n’b and hiphop in some of the beats and melodies. ” - Ed Cares
Do not miss your chance to see them play at Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms, Omeara in London and Louisiana at Bristol during October 2018.

Their latest release is the single Film Club which is certainly getting the music critics excited.
“'Film Club' is explosive from the off, a jagged guitar riff nailed against an anthemic vocal. ” - Clash
“Packed with the kind of sweaty punk attitude and rawness, CHILDCARE are making sounds soaked in sex.” - London On The Inside
“For a 3 minute 13 seconds, there is plenty crammed in here! Some really nice riffs and motifs lead into a killer guitar hook that drives the track and gives it it’s overwhelmingly funky sound! It’s loose and full of call and response vocals between Cares and Topolski which give it a really nice post punk feel.” - Louder Than War
