New York post-punks Bodega combine sardonic lyrics with a brash sound. They have released the albums Endless Scroll (2018), Witness Scroll (2019), Broken Equipment (2022), Xtra Equipment - extra songs (2022) and Our Brand Could Be Yr Life (2024).
Bodega are Ben Hozie (vocals, guitar), Nikki Belfiglio (vocals), Dan Ryan (guitar), Adam See (bass) and Adam Shumski (stand-up percussion).
Expecting excellent stage performance and was blown away. I have only just got my hands on their album so thought I had some ides of what to expect but the live experience was more than I bargained for. The whole band has a stage presence that is hard to beat and although some of the music was not from the album it was so well executed the audience became swept up in the excitement and exhilaration being pumped out from the band. If the band enjoyed preforming as much as I enjoyed watching and listening then they had a fantastic night as well, certainty that is how it came across.
